For many students and recent graduates, creating a CV is a challenge, especially when they lack sufficient work experience. In such situations, organizational experience can become a crucial element to strengthen the candidate’s profile when applying for jobs.

However, simply listing organizational experience in the CV is not enough. Students need to use the right strategy to make the experience relevant, professional, and appealing to recruiters. With proper presentation, organizational experience can demonstrate the candidate’s abilities, responsibilities, and potential.

SELECTING THE MOST RELEVANT ORGANIZATIONAL EXPERIENCE

The first step is to choose the organizational experience most relevant to the position being applied for. Not every organizational activity needs to be listed in the CV, especially if it is not directly related to the desired position.

Students should highlight experiences that demonstrate specific skills such as leadership, communication, event management, or teamwork. By selecting the right experiences, the CV will appear more focused and easier for recruiters to understand. In addition, showcasing relevant experiences helps demonstrate that the candidate understands the requirements of the position being applied for.

EXPLAINING ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CLEARLY

Many students’ CVs only list their position within the organization without explaining what they actually did. In fact, recruiters are more interested in knowing the **roles and responsibilities** carried out during the organizational experience.

Students can explain their key tasks, such as managing teams, designing work programs, organizing events, or coordinating with external parties. Clear explanations of these roles help recruiters understand the skills the candidate possesses. The clearer the role description, the easier it is for recruiters to assess the applicant’s abilities.

INCLUDING ACHIEVEMENTS OR RESULTS

The next strategy is to include actual achievements or results from organizational activities. This information can make organizational experience appear more impactful and substantial.

For example, students can mention successfully organizing an event with a specific number of participants, increasing member participation, or securing sponsorships. Achievements like these show that the candidate was not just active, but also made a tangible contribution. Measurable achievements are more likely to grab the attention of recruiters because they provide concrete evidence of the candidate's capabilities.

USING PROFESSIONAL AND CONCISE LANGUAGE

A good CV should use clear, professional, and easily understandable language. Avoid overly long or vague sentences. Instead, use short but informative sentences.Students can also use active verbs like “managed
